Where to Get Last Minute Holiday Delivery

If you’ve been waiting for the very last minute to do your holiday shopping, that last minute is here now, at least when it comes to items that have to be shipped. Here are a few ways to get fast shipping, but be warned that it may not be free, or even cheap.

After getting slammed by storms and blamed for late deliveries last year, UPS has invested $5M in making things run more smoothly this time around. If you’re shipping today (Monday) you’ll have to pay for 2nd Day Air if your package needs to reach its destination by Wednesday, Christmas Eve. You can still get December 24 delivery if you ship on Tuesday but expect to pay more for it.

There are a few retailers that can get your order under the tree in time for Christmas Eve. At Amazon, Monday is the last day to use Amazon Prime free 2-day shipping and be sure that your package will arrive by December 24. You can still get a gift off on Tuesday but you’ll have to pay extra for overnight shipping. Same-day delivery is available in 12 cities on Wednesday, but again that will cost you more.

If you want to send someone a sweet treat from Shari’s Berries, you can place your order by 3 p.m. EST on Tuesday and choose overnight shipping for December 24 delivery.

You can order a gift for that gaming fan from GameStop.com until 1 p.m. EST on Tuesday, December 23 and have it arrive on Christmas Eve. You can also order via the GameStop mobile app and pick up your item at a local store, provided it’s in stock.

J.Crew offers overnight shipping for $10 on orders placed at jcrew.com before noon EST on Tuesday. Use the promo code HOLIDAYTIME to get 30% off regularly priced merchandise and an extra 40% off sale items.

Starbucks is offering 2-day shipping for $15 or overnight priority shipping for $25 on orders placed today or Tuesday.
