Amazon Rocks Black Friday

Sorry Walmart, but for the last few years, Amazon has ruled Black Friday. Where else can you shop from your armchair, read reviews for products, search for the lowest prices, click, get free shipping and have all your shopping done in minutes? Amazon’s Black Friday plans were released on Tuesday and give shoppers even more reasons to make the online giant their go-to spot for the holidays this year.

This is just a sneak peek at the Black Friday deals to be found at Amazon.com starting November 17 and continuing through November 24 – and the rest of the holidays. Not all deals will go live at one time, since Amazon is notorious for rolling out new specials at various hours.

Yeah, that means you have to keep checking back to see what’s new and Amazon can hit you with a whole bunch of tempting goodies. It’s like the online equivalent of the brick-and-mortar stores that get you inside with in-store-only doorbusters in hopes of selling you lots of other stuff. So if any of these items interest you and you don’t see the sale price online, check back later.

Amazon products

Not surprisingly, some of the best deals will be on Amazon’s own line of tech devices like the Echo Dot that usually sells for $49.99, discounted to $29.99 for Black Friday. At that price, you can get one for every room of the house and buy more for gifts. The second generation Echo regularly priced at $99.99 will be $79.99. The Echo Plus now selling for $149.99 will be discounted $30 to just $119.99.

The Amazon Tap usually going for $129.99 will be $79.99 and the Amazon Cloud Cam list priced at $119.99 will be $99.99. The Tap is a portable Bluetooth speaker with Alexa controls.

If you’re ready to turn that old set into a smart TV, the Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote usually selling for $39.99 will be discounted to $24.99. This is an excellent price for this popular streaming device, especially compared to the competition from Chromecast and Roku.

Of course there will be deals on tablets with the Fire HD 10 usually selling for $149.99 marked down to only $99.99. This is a really low price for a full size tablet, especially one as well known as the Amazon Fire. The smaller Fire HD 8 will be discounted from $79.99 to $49.99, making it a great gift and perfect for tossing into a purse or briefcase. The Fire 7 tablet will be a cool stocking stuffer at $29.99, down from $49.99.

For the kids, the Fire 7 Kids Edition will be discounted $30 to $69.99 and the Fire HD 8 Kids Edition will be marked down $40 ro $89.99. Save an extra $10 if you buy both at the same time. The Kindle Paperwhite usually selling for $119.99 will be $89.99 and the Kindle will be discounted from $79.99 to $49.99.

Rumor has it that the Kindle Paperwhite will be going on sale November 19 with many of the other deals going online November 23.

TVs

Amazon always has a ton of TV deals and this year will be no exception. Just pick your size, price range and smart or not-smart and you’ll find a wide array of choice at Amazon over Black Friday weekend. A pair of Sony big screens will be heavily discounted with the Sony 75” 4K Smart LED TV usually selling for $2,998 going for $1,999.99 and the Sony 70” 4K Smart LED TV marked down from $1,498 to $1,199.99. A Samsung 65” 4K Smart TV usually selling for $2,199.99 will be just $1,297.99 and a Samsung 55” 4K Smart TV regularly priced at $1,197.99 will be $897.99.

As usual, Amazon will be slipping a few super duper cheap TV deals into the Black Friday madness and this year savvy shoppers should keep an eye out for a premium brand 40” Smart TV for $279.99, a 32” 720p TV for $69.99 and a 49” 4K TV for $159.99. Yeah, you’ll have to stake out the Amazon TV department and be prepared to pounce immediately when the deal you’re looking for pops up online but at least you’ll be sitting on the sofa munching a turkey leg while you shop instead of freezing to death outside a big box store that won’t open for another two hours.

Computers, Accessories and Gaming

Amazon is promising discounts of up to 40% off gaming laptops, desktops and components as well as up to 25% off Seagate hard drives and up to 30% off smart home and networking items. Select PlayStation virtual reality bundles will be discounted $100. VR headsets were a huge item for Amazon last year and they should be hot again for 2017. Save up to $150 on the Acer Helios 300 Gaming Laptop, up to $120 on the CyberpowerPC Gaming Desktop and 30% on Corsair K70 Gaming Keyboard. Be on the lookout for deals on the current Xbox and PS consoles as well as games, which are sure to be significantly discounted for Black Friday.

Streaming

Amazon is offering 40% off on new release movies, TV seasons and catalog favorites for rent or purchase on Amazon Video. Watch all your favorite holiday movies for less and keep visiting relatives entertained with new movies.

Toys

There will be toys by the thousands at Amazon including deals like up to 30% off Crayola arts and crafts and select Paw Patrol items, up to 35% on Melissa & Doug toys and furniture, up to 40% off K’NEX Thrill Rides-Kraken’s Revenge Roller Coaster and up to 50% off select Zoomer toys.

Alas, this year’s hot toy the LOL Big Surprise is currently unavailable at the list price of $69.99 but you can find it from Amazon vendors for $128.88 and up. Amazon promises that this toy will be back in stock on November 17 so be prepared to grab one if it’s on your kid’s wish list.

Home

In addition to all the Amazon branded home devices, look for deals on other connected items. Save up to $40 on the Schlage Mart Lock that works with Amazon Alexa, $50 on the Bluetooth-enabled Opal Nugget Ice Maker and $100 on SmartThings Home Monitoring Kit. Let’s see that baby sitter get away with eating your ice cream when you’re monitoring your entire house from your smartphone!

Sporting Goods

Score savings of up to 60% on New Balance shoes and apparel, 30% on Under Armour TB12 Recovery Sleepwear, up to 35% on select camo wear and Killerspin Table Tennis Rackets, up to 25% on the Nikon Coolshot Rangefinder and select X-Rocker Gaming Chairs and 20% on select Tumbl Trak products, Barska products, Paragon popcorn machines and the Atomic Foosball table.

Whole Foods

If you’re planning to do your Thanksgiving dinner shopping at Amazon-owned Whole Foods, their stores will be having some of the same Black Friday deals on the Echo, Echo Dot, FIre TV, Kindle and Fire tablets at 100 of their locations starting this week. There will also be Amazon pop-up stores in Whole Foods stores in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois and Michigan starting November 13. If you’re going to be spending big bucks at Whole Foods anyway, you might as well pick up a few gifts and get some holiday shopping out of the way.

Prime

If you’re going to be doing a big part of your Black Friday and holiday shopping at Amazon, you must have Prime. For a low $10.99 monthly or $99 yearly fee you get a ton of benefits like free two-day shipping on eligible items, streaming video and music, unlimited photo storage and and early access to Amazon Lightning Deals. Amazon Prime Video will let you get into the spirit with holiday movies and catch up on your favorite series while Prime Music gives you access to thousands of tunes including Christmas favorites. Non-Prime members can sign up for three months access to Amazon Music Unlimited for just $.99 for a limited time.

That early access will come in handy when you’re trying to grab the best Black Friday deals before they’re all gone. So if you’re going to be doing your Black Friday and holiday shopping on Amazon this year, Prime is the way to go.

All the fun starts this Friday at the official Amazon Black Friday 2017 page, where the deals will begin to go online. Check back frequently so you don’t miss a single deal!

What’s New at JCPenney Black Friday

Major retailers seem to be competing to see which one can put out the biggest, fattest Black Friday ad flyer and the current winner is JCPenney with a 72-page circular full of goodies. JCPenney also wins the prize for earliest start date for a Black Friday sale – Sunday, November 19 online. That means that the fun begins this weekend so grab your JCB card and get ready to shop!

Let’s face it – the reason chains offer such tempting Doorbusters is to get you into their brick-and-mortar stores so they can sell you more stuff. JCPenney is going beyond just in-store only Doorbusters with coupon giveaways for a few lucky customers. Winners can receive coupons for $10 off a $10 purchase, $100 off $100 or $500 off $500. Of course there’s fine print: “While supplies last. Valid in-store only. Some restrictions and exclusions apply.” Good luck at scoring one of these, guys.

In-store only through November 25, spend $100 on gift cards and get a $25 off $25 coupon redeemable November 26 through December 24. Restrictions apply.

TVs

The Samsung 55” Ultra HD 4K Smart HDTV regularly selling for $699.99 is on sale for $499.99. This is on the cover of the JCP Black Friday ad circular but it’s hard to see why. Rival retailers are touting deals on big screen smart TVs for less than $200. A $200 discount on a TV is something that happens regularly during the year, not a super duper special deal worthy of Doorbuster status.

The other Black Friday TV deals from JCPenney aren’t any more impressive. There’s a Samsung 32” LED HDTV discounted from $199.99 to $159.99 and a Samsung 40” Smart LED HDTV marked down from $449.99 to $329.99. An LG 55” 4K UHD HDR Smart HDTV is discounted $300 from $799.99 to $499.99 while the LG 65” 4K Ultra UHD HDR Smart HDTV is marked down $600 from $1,399.99 to $799.99. The last two are are pretty impressive discounts but overall, this is a small selection of TVs, especially compared to what other chains are offering for Black Friday. JCP is restricting purchases of these TVs to one per customer and is not honoring coupons for electronics purchases. If you’re buying a TV for Black Friday and you want low prices and a good selection, go to Walmart, Target or Best Buy.

Electronics

There are a couple of other decent deals on the cover of the JCP Black Friday ad including an iLive Voice Activated Concierge Wireless Speaker with Amazon Alexa for $39.99, a good price since the list price is $99 and it’s currently selling for $79.99.The Sony PS4 1TB console is going for $199 which is pretty much the same as other chains.

Cookware

More promising are the deals on “Seen on TV” copper cookware. Items regularly selling for $19.99 each are $10 after mail-in rebate. This is a pretty decent price provided you follow through on sending in all those rebate cards before they expire.

There’s a whole page of the JCP ad circular devoted to rebate deals on cookware from Cooks, Epicurious and T-fal. Some of them look pretty good but before you buy any of them, compare the prices from Kohl’s and Macy’s.

Small Appliances

The Bella 2.5-L. Convection Air Fryer list-priced at $100 is $19.99 after a $20 mail-in rebate, meaning you pay $39.99 up front. We’ve already seen this one cheaper at Macy’s and Kohl’s so this isn’t a very impressive Doorbuster. JCPenney does have tempting deals on small appliances, one that could make a Black Friday trip to your local store worthwhile. A large selection of kitchen appliances from Cook are just $7.99 each after $12 mail-in rebates, a deal that matches that of Kohl’s stores. Choose from Cooks Power Blender, Nonstick Griddle, 12-cup Programmable Coffee Maker, 6-qt. Slow Cooker, 4-Slice Toaster Oven, Flip Waffle Maker, 16-cup Rice Cooker, Immersion Blender, 10-speed Hand Mixer, Popcorn Popper and Stainless Steel Kettle. If you’re moving into new digs of just tired of looking at those sad old kitchen appliances, a Black Friday trip to JCPenney could be worth your time.

Holiday

JCPenney has everything you need to deck the halls, and the rest of the house, too. The North Pole Trading Company 7-foot Cyprus 300 Mini LED Color-Changing Christmas Tree list-priced at $180 is on sale for $69.99. Other North Pole Trading Co. trees are 60% off. Select items of holiday decor originally priced $12-50 are 60% off, along with wreaths and garlands.

Bedding

Home Expressions down-alternative comforters regularly selling for $79 to $119 are $20 each and JCPenney Home Mink comforters are $59.99 each for any size. Flannel sheet sets and throws are 60-70% off.

Complete bedding sets with sheets originally priced at $110 to $170 are just $39.99 each for any size. Complete 5-pc comforter sets by Stella and Granite are $25 in any size. Select styles of quilts and bedspreads are 50% off. JCPenney Classic Queen/Standard pillows usually selling for $12 are just $2.99 each while supplies last. Other pillows are $5.99 to $12.99 each.

JCPenney has lots more bedding items on sale so this department is worth a look.

Major Appliances

JCPenney is offering up to 40% off select major appliances and a Samsung 26-cu.ft. 3-door French-Door Refrigerator list priced at $1999.99 for $995. Appliances are not available in all JCP stores and delivery is not available to all locations, so check all details before shopping.

JCP is offering a rebate Visa card with your purchase of a major appliance, $100 for two appliances up to $500 for six. Major appliances from Samsung, LG, GE and more are up to 40% off.

Jewelry

Save up to 80% off regular and clearance fine jewelry after an extra 35% off. Save 80% on a bonus buy of a necklace and earrings with 1 cttw, just $79.99 the set. JCPenney has a huge selection of jewelry priced for gift giving so this department deserves a look.

Apparel

Cheer on your team with 50% off college team fleece and apparel for the whole family, select styles now $7.99 to $55 each. Get 50% off pro football youth apparel, now $7.50 to $37.50. Both of these deals are in-store only and teams will vary by store.

Graphic tees for the guys are priced at $5 and $7.99. Select styles of Arizona apparel for the guys are 60% off including flannel shirts for $12.99 each. Select styles of guys’ Arizona jeans regularly selling for $42 are just $15 per pair. Men’s jeans by Lee and Levi’s are on sale for $24.99 to $49.99 each. Get 60% off big and tall apparel for men up to size 6XL.

Get 60-70% off select apparel for boys and girls in toddler, preschool, husky, plus and slim sizes. Select styles of Arizona graphic tees for boys and girls are $6 each and boys Arizona jeans are just $12.99 per pair. Arizona fashion jeans for girls are $12.99 while select styles of jeans or jeggings are $10 each.

Take 50% off sleepwear for boys or girls with sets originally priced $27 to $30 reduced to $9.99 each.

Get 50% off select women’s boots with Green Box boots now $29.99 per pair. Select styles of Blue Box women’s boots are reduced to $39.99 per pair and Red Box boots are just $19.99 per pair. Select styles of athletic shoes for the family by Nike, Adidas, Converse, New Balance and Skechers are 25% off.

Get 60-80% off hats, gloves and scarves for women. Pajama sets by Sleep Chic or Adonna are just $9.99 each. Assorted ladies’ pajama sets originally selling for $42 each are just $19.99. Select styles of ladies’ coats are 60-70% off, some as low as $29.99.

If you’ve put off buying cold weather gear for the family, the JCPenney Black Friday sale is a good place to pick up everything you need at reasonable prices.

Toys

Take 30-50% off select styles of toys for the kids including items from Star Wars and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Get 50% off the Disney Collection Frozen Castle list priced at $100, now $49.99. Take 30% off select toys from Barbie and My Little Pony. JCPenney has a decent selection of toys on sale but nothing you can’t find somewhere else.

All in all, there isn’t a lot in this year’s JCPenney Black Friday ad to make you want to camp out in front of the local mall so you can grab the best Doorbuster Deals. If you really like the Arizona jeans or other lines of clothing from JCPenney, then this is a good time to stock up but there’s really nothing exciting in the other departments.

Macy’s Black Friday Ad Has It All

As most traditional department chains have fallen or been absorbed into mergers over the last few decades, Macy’s has emerged as one of the sole survivors. One reason the venerable retailer has survived is its ability to adapt to the times and learn a few tricks from the big box discount chains. That’s why the 50-page Macy’s Black Friday ad circular is just packed with coupons, rebates and free shipping offers.

Like most other major retailers taking part in the Black Friday madness,Macy’s stores will be opening at 5 pm on Thanksgiving and remain open until 2 am on Friday. Macy’s doors will reopen at 6 am Friday, with more Doorbusters until 1 am and again Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm. Armchair customers can shop online all day Thursday through Saturday but will miss out on most of the Doorbusters.

Doorbusters

The front page of Macy’s Black Friday ad flyer is all about freebies with a purchase or after rebates like a pair of 1/10 cttw diamond silver earrings with any purchase of $50 or more. Those would make nice stocking stuffers, as would the select tote bags, free after a mail-in rebate.

Rebates

Macy’s seems to be competing with discount chain Kohl’s when it comes to using those mail-in rebates to tempt thrifty customers. Rebates can save you a ton of money but you have to play the game. Save your receipts and remove the rebate paperwork from the item as soon as you open it. Keep everything you need in one place and be sure to mail off all those rebate cards before they expire. It’s not a bargain if you don’t follow through on your rebates!

More Doorbusters

Macy’s promises 10 free-after-rebate Doorbusters but all are in-store so you have to actually make an appearance at your local store to cash in. Other free items are Gold Toe slippers for men, men’s thermal tops and glassware sets from Longchamp or Cellar Basica. Page two of the ad offers more free-after-rebate items like young men’s joggers, a Disney Olaf stuffed toy, BCBG Maxazria Perfume, graphic sweatshirts, Lauren Ralph Lauren pillows and your choice of a Bella slow cooker or coffee maker. Nothing especially exciting but all items that could come in handy around the house or as gifts.

Buyer Beware

Be sure to read the fine print at the bottom of the page when you check out the Macy’s Black Friday ad because there’s a lot of it. You’ll find many exclusions and other stipulations so be informed!

Macy’s Savings Passes don’t apply to Doorbusters but are still worth using. Use the promo code HURRY25 to get $10 off your $25 purchase in-store during select times in-store and online. Use the code HURRY50 to take $20 off your $50 purchase of select merchandise, but again, read the fine print.

Kitchen Appliances

You can upgrade your whole kitchen on a budget with Macy’s in-store Doorbuster Deals good 6 am to 1 pm on Black Friday on small kitchen appliances by Bella, Bell and Howell and Cuisinart, your choice $7.99 after mail-in rebate. Items offered include blenders, electric skillets, griddles, coffee makers, toasters, slow cookers and more. Even without rebates, Macy’s has Doorbuster Deals on more kitchen items like a Bella air fryer or pressure cooker regularly priced at $99.99 to $179.99 for just $39.99 each. Get 50% off a Crux programmable slow cooker or 4-slice toaster. The Nespresso by Brevia espresso machine list priced at $289.99 will be just $99.99 and espresso machines by De’Longhi originally selling for $359.99 will be $149.99. There are more deals on blenders and food processors as well as name-brand cookware, but shop fast because all these specials are over at 1 pm Friday.

Holiday

Get a head start on your Christmas decorating by taking 65% off holiday ornaments and dinnerware by Lenox, Spode, Waterberry and more. Get 60% off ornaments, tree skirts and more by Holiday Lane. Get 20-40% off boxed chocolates and more by Godiva, 65% off holiday linens and 25% off all holiday collectibles.

Bedding

There are more Macy’s Doorbuster Deals for the home with king or queen 900-count sheet sets in assorted colors usually selling for $179.99 to $199.99 just $29.99. Microfiber sheet sets start at $5.99 for twin size and your choice of a any size comforter or down pillow will be $19.99 each. Get 65% off all damask sheets and bedding.

Luggage

Now’s a great time to pick up new luggage for holiday trips and Macy’s has plenty of Black Friday Doorbuster Deals good until 1 pm on November 24. Get 60-75% off all Samsonite luggage and business bags. Get 60% off all Travelpro or Delsey bags and any size Tag luggage is just $49.99.

For Men

Designer suiting for men by Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Michael Kors and Lauren is on sale for $199 with designer overcoats by Lauren and London Fog just $89.99 each. Get 75% off designer sportcoats and overcoats and 40-60% off mens shoes and boots. Take 50% off designer dress shirts while select designer ties and dress pants are $29.99 each. Watches

Watches make great gifts and Macy’s has sales good all through Black Friday weekend including 50% off clearance fashion watches. Stainless steel bracelet watches by Bulova regularly selling for $200 to $299 are just $99 each during Doorbuster hours on Black Friday. Select famous maker watches are $165 each and new Guess watches are $69.99 each. Select fashion watches from Anne Klein, Fossil, Kenneth Cole, Diesel and Armani Exchange regularly priced at $100 to $165 are just $79.99 each during Macy’s Black Friday Doorbuster hours.

Shoes and Bags

Select boots and shoes from brands including Clarks, Sperry, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Jessica Simpson are 40% off, selling for $53.70 to $89.49 during Black Friday Doorbuster hours. Plus, cold weather boots are 60% off. Macy’s also has Doorbuster Deals on handbags, with 40% and 60% off select styles from famous makers.

Beauty items make super stocking stuffers and Macy’s has kits from Origins, Clinique, Impulse, Bar III and more for $10 each. More beauty gifts from MAC, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Elizabeth Arden, Urban Decay and Origins priced at $16 to $25. Fragrance sets by Calvin Klein for Her, Jimmy Choo, Burberry Brit, Donna Karan Liquid Cashmere, Michael Kors Sexy Blossom, Narciso Rodriguez for Her and Vince Camuto are $25 each. Macy’s has dozens of beauty and fragrance sets to choose from so you’re sure to find a few great gifts for $25 or less.

Beauty

The Le Parisien Holiday Collection featuring $350 in Lancome products can be yours for $63.50 with any Lancome purchase and all beauty orders ship free. The Best of Clinique set with eight products tucked into a train case is just $49.50 with your Clinique purchase of $29.50 or more. The Estee Lauder Beauty Essentials set, a $455 value, is just $65 with a Lauder purchase of $35 or more. Aficionados of these legendary beauty labels wait all year for these bonus deals so now is the time to stock up!

Shipping

For online shoppers, Macy’s has dropped the total for free shipping to $49 but if you throw in a beauty product you can get free shipping on the whole order.

There’s truly something for everyone at Macy’s Black Friday sale, but shoppers need to plan carefully to get the best deals. Read the ad circular carefully to see when the items you want are available at Doorbuster Deal prices because many of them revert to a higher price as soon as the designated hours are over. Most of the best deals are available in-store only so you really do have to brave the crowds to get them. Plan your shopping time carefully and look for the items you most desire before they sell out or you run out of energy!

While you’re in your local Macy’s loading up on Doorbuster items, drop your letter to Santa in their big red mailbox because each one will result in a $1 donation to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Deals Galore in Best Buy Black Friday Ad

Best Buy is the go-to place for electronics and major appliances all year long so it’s not surprising that this big box chain has some pretty cool deals on those items in their Black Friday ad. Like several other major retailers, Best Buy is getting a head start on the Black Friday madness by having a preview sale this weekend featuring many of the items in the circular with free shipping all through the holidays.

Also like most retail chains, Best Buy will be opening its doors at 5 pm on Thanksgiving for the earliest of the early birds, then close at 1 am on Black Friday before reopening at 8 am. (Do employees get to go home or do they have to sleep on cots in the store room?) In an effort to avoid some of the door-opening craziness that has been a part of Black Fridays past, Best Buy will begin giving out tickets for their Doorbusters at 3 pm on Thanksgiving, meaning early birds must show up even earlier.

For those who prefer not to venture out into the Black Friday fray, most items in the Best Buy ad will also be available online. Most, but not all. Best Buy has not yet released the hours for the online sale but it’s highly likely that Black Friday will begin early on Thanksgiving morning.

TVs

Of course there are TVs, lots of them. Best Buy’s Thursday Doorbusters include a Sharp 50” Smart 4K Ultra HD Roku TV for just $179.99. This is obviously a rock bottom price but the bad news is that it’s in-store only, meaning you’d better be camped out in front of your local Best Buy so you can get one of those Doorbuster tickets that will be handed out starting at 3 pm on Thanksgiving afternoon. Better bring along a turkey leg to munch on because this could be a long wait.

Probably easier to get will be the Sony 60” Smart 4K Ultra HD TV for $599, a saving of $400, and the Samsung 65″ 4K LED Smart HDTV for $799.99, a discount of $350. Save $150 on the LG 43″ 4K LED Smart Ultra HD TV for $279.99 and $300 on the Samsung 50″ 4K LED Smart Ultra HD TV on sale for $399.99.

There are more big specials on big TVs for Black Friday as a brand new batch of Doorbusters becomes available, like the Toshiba 55″ 4K LED Ultra HD TV with Built-In Chromecast discounted $220 to $279.99. This is another in-store only special so it may be hard to find.

If you want to go really, really big, Best Buy has great deals on several extra large TVs. The Sony 75″ LED 2160p Smart 4K Ultra HD TV with High Dynamic Range list priced at $2,799.99 will be going for $1,999.99. If that one won’t fit on your wall, there’s the Sony 70″ LED Smart 4K Ultra HD TV discounted $600 to $1,199,99.

Best Buy has many more TVs starting at $79.99 plus all the hardware you need to mount and set them up plus DVD and Blu-ray players, like the Sony Streaming WiFi Built-In Black Blu-ray Player discounted $40 to $49.99. Pair up your new smart TV with the LG UP875 4K Ultra HD 3D Blu-ray Player that regularly sells for $199.99, discounted $100 to just $99.99.

If you don’t buy a smart TV, you’ll need a streaming device to watch services like Netflix and Hulu. Best Buy Black Friday has the lowest price we’ve seen so far on the Google Chromecast – $19.99, a discount of $15.01. At that price, you can pick one up for every TV in your house. Best Buy also has the Roku Premiere+ Streaming Media Player for $49.99, a saving of $50. Not as well known as the Roku and Chromecast but highly rated by users, the NvidiaShield TV 16GB streaming media player with controller is on sale now for $169.99.

A good reason to purchase your big screen TV and all the gadgets that go with it from Best Buy is their free delivery and optional installation. It’s fine to have that discount giant drop off a 24″ or 32″ TV on your doorstep if you plan to let it sit on a table but mounting a 75″ model on the wall may be more complicated than you expected so expert installation guarantees that your expensive new TV won’t fall off onto the floor.

Connected Home Products

Items for the connected home are big this year and Best Buy has deals on two of the most popular. The Best Buy Black Friday deal on the Google Home Mini matches the one from Target, offering the $49.99 gadget for $29.99 with a $10 gift card included. The Samsung SmartThings Hub is on sale now at Best Buy for $49.99.

Save $80 on the Ring Video Doorbell on sale for $99.99. The Amazon Second Gen Echo is $79.99 while the Amazon Echo Plus is $119.99. Save $50 on the Echo Show, available in various colors for $179.99. The Google Home is discounted $50 to $79.99. Safeguard your entire home with the Arlo Pro Indoor/Outdoor White 4-pk. HD Wire-Free Security Camera System for $499.99.

Gaming

The Black Friday deals on gaming consoles tend to be pretty similar with the main differences being in the games and accessories included. The Xbox One S 500GB console from Best Buy comes bundled with the Madden NFL 18 game and an extra controller, all for $229.99. Other retailers are offering this console for $189 with a gift card.

Walmart’s Black Friday Ad is Here

No retailer knows how to capitalize on Black Friday like Walmart and their ad circular is packed with tempting deals on practically everything. Unfortunately, most of the deepest discounts are on items that are in limited supply and/or available only in-store so you may have to actually make a trip to your neighborhood Walmart to take advantage of them.

On the plus side, Walmart has been upping its game online so there will be plenty of hot deals to go around even if you do all your shopping from your smartphone app. Here are some of this year’s top deals from Walmart’s Black Friday ad.

TVs

Every big box store will be trying to lure Black Friday shoppers with budget-priced TVs, the bigger the better. It’s going to be hard to beat Walmart’s entry in the category of “lowest-priced big screen TV” since the chain is offering an Element 39” Class Smart TV for $125. The bad news is that this deal is available in limited quantities with a minimum of one unit per store. That means the very earliest bird will get the only set in some stores, so good luck. Just don’t get trampled by the other bargain hunters trying to stampede into the electronics department.

Another Walmart Black Friday TV deal is a Sharp 55” Class 4K Smart TV for $298. This model will have a minimum of two units per store so you’ll have a slightly better chance of actually scoring one.

Your chances are even better with the Samsung 32” Class TV for $158, which has a minimum of nine units per store. Another special buy is the Vizio 43” Class 1080p TV for $198, which has no per-store minimum listed.

A Samsung 40” Class 4K Smart TV is priced at $328 with a minimum of seven units per store while a Samsung 58” Class 4K Smart TV is $598 with a four-unit per-store minimum. The Samsung 65” Class Curved Smart TV is $998, a discount of $300 off the regular price.

Streaming Devices

If you’d like to turn your old set into a smart TV instead of springing for a new one, Walmart Black Friday has deals on several of the most popular streaming devices. The Roku Streaming Stick+ is discounted $21 to $48 and the Roku Express+ HD Streaming Media Player is on sale for $22, a saving of $17. The latter includes a free month of DirectTV Now (a $70 value) and Showtime, so this one qualifies as an extra-good deal. The Google Chromecast is on sale for $20, a discount of $15. This is the lowest price we’ve seen so far for this very popular streaming device. Walmart is imposing a maximum of six per customer in case you’re planning to pick up one for every TV in the house. Do a bit of research on the difference between Roku and Chromecast devices so you can make the best choice for your viewing needs.

TV Accessories

It takes more than a big screen TV to turn your living room into a home theater and Walmart Black Friday has deals on all the bells and whistles you need. A Vizio 32” 5.1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer is $139 and an RCA 37” Soundbar is just $29, a discount of $19. You can eliminate the clutter of multiple remotes with the Blackweb 6-device remote discounted from $9.48 to $5.48. A Sanyo Blu-ray Player is discounted $10.97 to $39 while the LG 4k Blu-ray player is a special buy at $99. Walmart also has a huge selection of DVDs and Blu-ray discs starting at just $1.96.

Smartphones

Walmart has been concentrating on the lower-priced smartphone market with their SmartTalk Wireless brand but the chain is also offering a deal on the latest high-end phones for Black Friday. This contract offer lets customers get a $300 Walmart gift card with $0 down for qualified customers on select Apple or Samsung devices purchased on qualifying AT&T Next or Verizon Device payment. You have to call your store for an activation appointment and details. This is a good opportunity to get a brand new premium name brand smartphone without signing up for a long, restrictive contract with one of the major carriers.

The most tempting deal on Walmart’s SmartTalk Wireless is a Samsung Galaxy S7 regularly priced at $499 for just $299 while supplies last. Also worth a look is the Samsung J7 Sky Pro on StraightTalk for a super low $49 – a saving of $100. There are other no-contract Android phones on sale for Black Friday so if you’ve been considering saying goodbye to your carrier, this could be the perfect opportunity.

Walmart is also offering the iPhone 6 on SmartTalk Wireless for $129, a discount of $70. This deal is good only on November 23 and 24, limited to stock on hand. If you don’t need the latest model iPhone and don’t want to be stuck with a contract, this is a good deal. The iPhone SE 32GB on Walmart Family Mobile is just $99. If you’re planning to buy smartphone gifts for grandma or the kids, Walmart is the place to get them at low Black Friday prices.

Gaming

Of course Walmart will be offering all the gadgets a gamer needs but buyers should compare models and prices across retailers before putting down the plastic on a pricey console. Walmart has a Black Friday special on the Nintendo Switch console for $299, which isn’t all that special since Target has it for the same price. Again, supplies are limited. The Switch controller is just $17. The Razer 4-piece gaming bundle with keyboard, headset, mouse and mousepad is just $99, a special buy. The PlayStation 4 1TB console is just $199, a saving of $100. The PlayStation 4 GranTurismo Sport VR bundle with headset, camera and GT Sport game is discounted $100 to $299. Save $20.96 on the PS4 controller, discounted to $39. The Xbox One s 500GB console is $189. For just four days, November 9 through November 12, you can get the Xbox One S console bundle with bonus game and controller for $249. The Turtle Beach Recon 50p universal headset for PS4 and  Xbox is discounted $14.82 to $25 each. Games start at $9 each.

Laptops

Laptop computers make great gifts, especially at Walmart Black Friday prices. An HP Touch  laptop with 15.6” touchscreen is just $249. The same laptop bundled with mouse and backpack is $399. For the most bang for your buck, Walmart will have the RCA Windows 2-in-1 tablet for just $99 and the Samsung Chromebook 3 for $119. The HP Touch Chromebook will be $179, a discount of $70.

Smart Home Accessories

If this is the year that you make your crib a smart home, Walmart has everything you need to make it happen. Walmart Black Friday has a sweet deal on the Google Home: Purchase any Google Home product and get up to $25 off a Walmart order through Google Express. The Google Home is discounted $50 to just $79.

Protect your home with the Night Owl 4-camera HD security system kit for $150. This special buy includes four indoor/outdoor HD bullet cameras with up to 100 feet of night vision, real time motion alerts and no monthly fees.

Save $80 on the Netgear Orbi AC2200 Tri-Band Whole Home Wi-Fi System, on sale for $199. This system will let you use all your wi-fi devices over up to 3,500 square feet.

Holiday Decorating

Get a start on fixing up your home for the season with a Norwich 7.5-foot pre-lit LED tree for $68. Make your yard festive with a 72” Light Up Fluffy LED Snowman for $39. There will be plenty more holiday decorating items coming to Walmart, both in-store and online.

Kitchen

Be ready for all the holiday cooking and entertaining ahead with new appliances from Walmart. Pick your choice of a 5-quart Instant Pot pressure cooker, Ninja Professional Blender or Copper Chef 7-piece cookware set for $49 each. Choose an Igloo Mini Desk Fridge, Chicago Cutlery 23-piece cutlery set or Pyrex 28-piece storage set for $19 each.

The Walmart Black Friday fun officially starts at 6 pm on Thursday, November 23 and all day online but there’s already a large selection of deals available at Walmart.com right now. The RCA Galileo Pro 11.5” 32GB 2-in-1 tablet list priced at $179.99 is now just $87.99. Save $402 on a Samsung 49” Glass Curved 4K LED Smart TV now $497.99.

More pre-Black Friday deals will be going up at Walmart.com from now until Thanksgiving so you may be able to find great prices on everything you’re looking for even before time to put the turkey in the oven! Check every day to see what new items have been added, especially if you’re shopping for the best deal on certain items. Even if the idea of hitting your local Walmart makes you break out in hives, their smartphone app and website can help you get the lowest prices on everything on your list.
